Artspace Sydney’s acclaimed 52 ACTIONS continues its national tour here at the Wangaratta Art Gallery, featuring works from 52 Australian artists and collectives across generations, geographies and cultural backgrounds. Working in a wide variety of mediums, they highlight the diversity, complexity and dynamism of contemporary Australian art.
As the title suggests, 52 ACTIONS is grounded in art as action. The artists explore and reflect on what art is and what it can do within the gallery and far beyond: art as a political motivator, a cultural transmitter, a means for understanding, a tool for shifting perspectives, holding memory, bridging divides and inciting change. These ideas are intimately connected with the artist’s role, from facilitator to provocateur, creator to witness.

Little Projector Company Event
Saturday 22 April between 6:30 - 10 pm @ public sites around Wangaratta CBD. Wherever there is a crowd the bike projector will stop and project videos from the following program: Eddie Abd - كا ت actions, 2021-22; Adrift lab – Plastic Everywhere; Léuli Eshrāghi - AOAULI (VILIATA), 2020/22; Naomi Hobson – Behind the scenes Adolescent Wonderland; OCL Art Collective – Dream Baby Dream; Unbound Collective – For all our women of the sun; Chris Yee – Cross Over, Romeo and Juliet from Crossing line, Us and Them from Crossing Line, Tag from Crossing Line.
