Opening | The Good and Fearless

Friday 28 June 2024 | from 5pm

Join us for the opening of The Good and
Fearless. Artist Flossie Peitsch will speak about her work in Fearless at 5pm prior to the exhibition launch at 5.30pm.

The Good is a major new solo exhibition by Western Australian based artist Anna Louise Richardson whose practice is centred around rural life, embedded in the experience and drama of everyday reality. Working primarily in charcoal and graphite, Richardson’s work explores ideas of intergenerational exchange, parenthood and identity based on her experiences of living and working on a multi-generation beef cattle farm in rural Australia.

The Good is touring to 11 regional galleries across Australia, supported by Museums & Galleries of NSW.

Fearless brings together a body of work by artist Flossie Peitsch created over the past seven years. Peitsch's work is informed by her experiences as an educator in very remote Indigenous communities and her close familial relationships, as one of four sisters. Fearless addresses the struggle, transformation and ultimately the calm of lives lived to the full; weaving together the ordinary and extraordinary experiences of our contemporary social lives.

Both exhibitions will be opened by Dr Lee-Anne Hall, Director, Wagga Wagga Art Gallery and co-curator of The Good.

Refreshments will be served. All welcome. RSVPs appreciated for catering purposes.
