An exhibition bringing together two artists, husband and wife Barbara and David McCabe, both long term advocates for artistic endeavour in Wangaratta.
This exhibition is a retrospective of their body of work; David focussing on the architectural form in the landscape through a series of drawings and watercolours, recording the presence of human inhabitation in the natural environment with pencil, paper and brush. These tools provide David with a means to describe nature and man’s impact on his environment, but not to create and yet that description is in effect, creation itself.
Barbara uses the medium of textile to bring a whimsical and colourful look on life, with techniques that encompass applique and machine embroidery. She works alone, with each artwork taking long periods of time, becoming a personal part of and an expression of herself.
A celebration of two artists who have made a lasting impact in our artistic community.
